W550 died while updating
Hey everyone, I don't know if you know me, but I was Wii Master 64 on Seven Forums, so, it's good to be here!
I decided to change my name, but I couldn't think of anything better, so I just went with what it is lol.
Anyways, I about a month or 2 ago, I went and bought a new laptop since my old one was starting to die on me and stuff. This is the first hick up I've had with it so far, and I noticed it happening today.
I noticed my screen was really dim today as I was using it, so naturally, I use the Fn key to turn it up, but nothing happens.
Apparently, my driver updated itself today without me knowing lol. Computer Type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom self built OS 64-bit Windows 10 CPU Intel i7-3930K 3.2 Ghz (O/C to 4 Ghz) Motherboard ASRock X79 Extreme11 Memory 32 GB (8GBx4) G.
Apparently, there's some sort of incompatibility between the new driver and my computer. It was working before and all of a sudden when I pressed the 'w' key, it would go black each time. The screen is set very bright , OK for day use but too bright for night use .My problem is that I can't adjust the screen brightness. I have looked every post to see if this has been answered before and the solutions but for some reason none of these solutions are available on my windows 8.- If it will still not work, connect an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it.If there's a display on the external monitor that could mean that the problem is the built in display.
